The course will cover a number of key areas and themes: - How and why some meetings fail - Agendas and Hidden Agandas! - Key roles within meetings and the different types of meetings - Resolving difficult situations - Understand and use “Six Thinking Hats” - Importance of planning and preparation, delegation and decision making - The “GTD” approach - Effective communication and listening
Meetings are an essential part of any organisation. Research shows that up to 50% of the time at meetings can be wasted. This workshop will provide individuals with the opportunity to develop skills that will enhance their ability to manage effective and successful meetings. It is designed to raise the quality and discipline necessary for a successful meeting and to encourage meaningful discussion and better organisation.
By the end of this course participants will be able to: - utilise new skills in “meeting management” - understand the importance of participating - prepare effective, appropriate and relevant agendas - harness group dynamics to help everyone contribute constructively - generate workable solutions to problems

I have been working within education and training for over 25 years culminating in a Deputy Head position of a large surburban primary school. I gained B.Ed followed by a DASE and later TTCIT for Information Technology pluc a TEFL certificate. I am also a certified Prince2 Project Manager. Presently my work involves staff development and management and leadership training both locally and internationally for public private and voluntary sector organisations.
