Building Leadership Capacity

You are here: Home > Blc > Student Leadership

Student Leadership is a relatively new aspect of building the leadership capacity in schools. It has also be termed 'Pupil voice'.

It is about valuing people and valuing the learning that results when we engage the capacities and the multiple voices in our schools.

It is essentially both optimistic and aspirational, representing
'a belief in the contribution that is made when we release the leadership of all those who share responsibility for learning in a school- both adults and pupils.'
(Jackson, 2004).
